William Scott Goldberg (born December 27, 1966) better known by his ring name Bill Goldberg (or simply Goldberg) is a commentator for the Mixed Martial Arts promotion EliteXC. He is also a retired / inactive American professional wrestler best known for his tenure in World Championship Wrestling from September 1997 to January 2001, as well as his tenure World Wrestling Entertainment from March 2003 to March 2004. He is a former two -time World Heavyweight Champion who held the both finals each incarnations of the Big Gold Belt. He is a one-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion in WCW and a one-time World Heavyweight Champion in WWE winning the same belt although it's a different form incarnation. Bill was the one of the first three superstars to have achieved this, the others being Chris Benoit and Booker T.
Goldberg played college football as a defensive tackle for the University of Georgia, and in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons, for whom he played for three seasons from 1992 through 1994. He also had stints with the Los Angeles Rams and Carolina Panthers, though he never played a game for the latter.
